Members will understand how goods move through ports, roads, rail and airports, and where disruption can create rapid consequences across the economy.
Overview

The UK is a trading nation that imports the bulk of its food, fuel and manufacturing inputs. Disruption at a single port or rail line is therefore felt in every constituency within days. The cohort will trace goods from Liverpool Docks to see how the supply chain actually functions and where the chokepoints sit.

Learning outcomes: Trace a real supply chain; identify infrastructure and operational chokepoints; examine how resilience, technology and workforce capacity affect trade.
