Overview

The UK has not built a major reservoir in a generation, water supply is now the binding constraint on housing and industrial growth in much of the South, and public trust in the sector is at a low. The cohort will visit Havant Thicket reservoir and Thames Tideway to see the first new major water infrastructure sites in decades.

Learning outcomes: Compare reservoir and wastewater infrastructure; examine planning, finance and environmental trade-offs; understand how capacity constraints affect homes and industry.
