Overview

This visit gives Members a ground-level perspective on one of the most pressing issues facing public services today, the mental health of the people we rely on most.

Hosted at the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station, the busiest lifeboat station in the UK, Members will tour the facility before taking part in two focused discussions:

The first examines the mental health of frontline responders, addressing the challenges around recruitment, retention, and the wellbeing of both staff and volunteers.

The second turns to the broader crisis itself, exploring the daily realities facing those who work at its sharp end, and what this means for frontline services across the country.
