This visit gives Members a comprehensive picture of how the UK is protected, from neighbourhood crime to national security threats. Across several sessions, Members will receive briefings from the National Crime Agency on its work tackling organised crime, trafficking, weapons and cybercrime; hear from Counter Terrorism Policing on the national strategy keeping the public safe, including Prevent and the Defending Democracy programme; and gain insight into how policing is coordinated at a national level through the National Police Coordination Centre, reflecting on recent years and looking ahead to the future of the service.
