Headline Outcomes
Members will understand how gaps in language and development emerge before school and which interventions can prevent them becoming long-term inequalities.
Overview

Vocabulary, speech and development gaps appear before a child sets foot in reception, and once embedded they shape outcomes through school, work and health. The cohort will gain an understanding of the interventions that close those gaps by the end of primary as well as both the literal and figurative price paid in not closing gaps early.

Learning outcomes: Examine early identification and support; understand the cost of delayed intervention; explore how family, nursery and primary services work together.
